The MSKT is a MASH TL-3 compliant, energy-absorbing tangent terminal with an overall length of 50 feet. It features eight posts spaced 6 feet 3 inches apart. During a head-on impact, the MSKT head slides along the W-Beam guardrail, sequentially kinking the rail. This kinking action helps absorb the impact energy, allowing the rail to exit through the head and bringing the vehicle to a controlled stop, enhancing safety on the roadway.
